Another of this fall's most highly anticipated restaurants kicks its doors open tonight, as The 404 Kitchen in the Gulch officially welcomes its first guests. Having gone through a week of soft openings and VIP previews, executive chef Matt Bolus (formerly of Flyte and Watermark), sous chef/pastry chef Sam Tucker (also previously at Watermark, among others) and general manager Travis Brazil (a former bartender at Aura and Flyte) aim to serve up a "modern take on classical European cuisine," all from the comfort of a re-purposed storage container. A sample menu online shows an unusually tight roster of starters, entrees and family-style sides, including onaga snapper crudo, gulf red grouper, Top of the World Farms red waddle pork and crackled butterball potatoes. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 to 11 p.m. Planning on heading over for the opening? Be sure to send any rants, raves, comments to email@example.com.
