Catbird Seat Chef Erik Anderson Leaving at Year's End

Big news out of restaurant group Strategic Hospitality today, as the Nashville Scene reports that The Catbird Seat chef Erik Anderson plans to leave the acclaimed restaurant, with New Year's Eve being his last service. Anderson says that he will be headed to Minneapolis, Minnesota to be with his fiancee Jamie Malone, who is a chef at Sea Change, where the two met. He is also exploring the possibility of opening his own restaurant in the Minneapolis area, telling the Scene that the concept and business plan are set, he's just working on financing and finding space. With Josh Habiger having left The Catbird Seat in July to work on the recently opened Strategic Hospitality project Pinewood Social, who will be taking over the kitchen? Someone new to Nashville, according to a statement from Strategic:

New Years Eve will be Erik Anderson's last service as chef of The Catbird Seat. We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his career. However, The Catbird Seat will continue to thrive with innovative young chefs eager to display their talent. We will be making an announcement in the coming weeks on our new chef and are excited to have this person join the Nashville community.
