Pinewood Social, the oh-so anticipated new restaurant/bar/social gathering space from Strategic Hospitality, is now open for business. Officially 'getting the ball rolling' earlier this morning, the Goldberg brothers and team have hit the ground running, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and coffee until 1 a.m. Executive chef Josh Habiger has assembled a top flight kitchen team, including Levi Pearson, most recently sous chef at Rolf and Daughters, and Julia Sullivan, who spent a number of years in New York City working in the kitchens of Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Per Se, among others.
Breakfast features dishes such as 'Eggs in a Jar,' buckwheat pancakes and a smoked trout omelet, while brunch moves to a few more hearty plates like the fried chicken and grilled cheeseburger. Lunch shows very little overlap, with a roster of starters (fried broccoli and crispy sweetbreads), salads and sandwiches (lobster roll and beef tongue reuben). Dinner has some carry over, but adds a list of entrees, sides and large format 'comfort food' dishes, like pot roast and mushroom pot pie.
Heading up the bar program is Matt Tocco, a Patterson House alum and most recently the opening bar manager for Rolf and Daughters. He's put together a cocktail list that includes new takes on classics, as well as some house originals, along with a separate brunch cocktail menu that features some large format options for sharing.
And popular 'brewtique' Crema has set up shop with some of their classic offerings, as well as a few coffee cocktails.
Pinewood Social is open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until 1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
