Bar owner Chris Ferrell, who had been under investigation for the shooting death of country musician Wayne Mills in his bar Pit and Barrel last month, has been arrested on second-degree murder charges, reports The Tennessean. Ferrell, who claimed self-defense following the shooting, which was allegedly spurred on by Mills' smoking in a non-smoking area of the bar, turned himself over to authorities after hearing of the charge. Ferrell's attorney David Raybin says that he has "every intention of contesting this charge. My client denies that he is guilty of any degree of homicide." No word yet on whether or not this will affect the progress on Ferrell's other Pit and Barrel location near the fairgrounds, but common sense would say 'Yes.'
