Mason's Opening; Nashville Food Project Dinner

WEST END — Tonight is the grand opening of the new restaurant and bar concept Mason's and Mason Bar in the newly renovated Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Held at the Nashville Farmers' Market, this year's guest chefs are Hugh Acheson (Empire State South, Atlanta, Ga., Five & Ten, Athens, Ga.) and Rob Newton (Seersucker, Brooklyn, NY). GERMANTOWN — City House has announced a special Sunday Supper on August 11th in support of Atlanta chef Ryan Hidiger, who earlier this year was diagnosed with Stage IV gallbladder cancer. Proceeds from the event will go to The Giving Kitchen Initiative, which was created to assist Hidiger. Ryan Smith, currently with Empire State South and soon to be at upcoming Atlanta restaurant Staplehouse, will also be in the kitchen. Tickets are $150 inclusive of tax and gratuity. [Nashville Scene]
