Infused Cocktails to be Banned Across the State

It's bad news for restaurant and bar owners across the state as the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has announced that it will be enforcing a 2006 law that bans the infusing of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with food products. Effective July 1, drinks such as sangria must be made to order instead of the usual practice of having them pre-made in larger quantities. Even house-infused liquors will be outlawed under the ban.

An attorney for the Tennessee Hospitality Association says that they hope the TABC will not enforce the law so that both sides have an opportunity to talk it out. However, if it is enforced, it could be next year before changes to the law could be made. So you had better get your fill now, as the countdown to 'Cocktail Armageddon' begins.
