Bartender Bash at Loews Hotel; Oysters in the Round

WEST END — The Nashville Lifestyles' 2013 Bartender Bash takes place at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel this Thursday. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch 12 local bartenders compete, as well as sample their concoctions and hors d'oeuvres from Mason's. SOBROThe Southern is offering up another chance for bivalve lovers to indulge their oyster habit. On August 27, Erin Byers Murray, author of SHUCKED: Life on a New England Oyster Farm (and managing editor of Nashville Lifestyles) will host 'Oysters in the Round,'a five course tasting paired with wine. WEST NASHVILLEGreen Door Gourmet, a biodynamic and sustainable farm, will be hosting a honey-themed Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner on Sept. 10. Joining host chef Richard Jones will be chefs Daniel Lindley of St. John's restaurant in Chattanooga, Wally Joe of Acre Restaurant in Memphis, and Coby Ming of Harvest Restaurant in Louisville.
