Big news out of Lynchburg, Tenn. this morning, as Jack Daniel's announces plans for a massive expansion of its facilities. The Tennessean reports that Louisville-based parent company Brown-Forman Corporation will be investing $100 million into the distillery to add more stills, barrel warehouses and other infrastructure to keep up with worldwide demand.
Says Jeff Arnett, master distiller at Jack Daniel Distillery:
It's a good time in the whiskey industry, and our future prospects look really good. This will basically secure that we've got the ability to give Jack Daniel's to all of those who want Jack Daniel's for years to come. It's going to ensure that every drop of Jack Daniel's is made here in Lynchburg, Tenn., from the same water source. [ABC News]
Construction is slated to begin this fall, and will last about two years.
