Calypso.jpgThe Tennessean reports that the Belle Meade location of Calypso Cafe has been shut down and seized by the state due to failure to turn over sales tax collections on time. Phil Brooks, co-owner of Calypso, said that the state had to intervene due to the franchisee's, who lives in Atlanta, non-payment. Brooks dues not intend to re-open this location, but a sign on the front door of the shuttered restaurant apparently states that a Charlotte Avenue location is forthcoming next year. [Tennessean]
