Following up on the success of last April's Otaku South Extra Large event, Sarah Gavigan, founder of ramen pop-up Otaku South, has announced the lineup and date for Extra Large 2, and it certainly packs some heavy hitters. Taking place on Feb.15 at Marathon Music Works in Marathon Village, Gavigan will be joined by chefs Shigetoshi Nakamura, head of the Sun Noodle Ramen Lab, and Yuji Haraguchi of Yuji Ramen, both out of New York City, as well as Ed Lee of 610 Magnolia and Milkwood in Louisville, Mihoko Obunai of the recently closed Atlanta ramen pop-up Mibo Love Ramen and Nashville's own Jessica Benefield, executive chef for very soon-to-open izakaya Two Ten Jack. The event will run from 5 to 10 p.m., with ramen being served until 9 p.m. And as with all things Nashville, there must be music, so Guilty Pleasures will be serenading the crowd beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale, and a portion of the proceeds will go towards funding the Teddy Berger-Greer Research Fund for Neuroblastoma.
