The prominent corner retail space at East Nashville's Fifth and Main mixed use complex is about to have another go at it, as The Vine restaurant and wine bar is planning to soft open Oct.22. Following behind previous tenants Allium, Germantown Cafe East and Feast, the restaurant, the first project from Middle Tennessee native and restaurant business veteran Greg Swafford, will feature a seasonal menu of classic American fare, along with a number of affordable by-the-glass and by-the-bottle wine options. Swafford tells Eater that initially they will only be open for dinner, but plan on adding lunch the first week of November. [UPDATE: The Vine's opening has been pushed to this Friday, Oct.24, due to some pretty important dining hardware having not yet arrived from Chicago.]
