The third and last restaurant component to the newly redeveloped Melrose complex is about to open its doors, as Fenwick's 300, a new 'modern diner' from the Bongo Java restaurant and coffee group, is slated to open this Friday.
Owner Bob Bernstein describes the restaurant as "Fido with waiters," referencing the popular Hillsboro Village eatery that Bernstein also owns. The name is a tribute to the classic eighties movie Diner (and specifically to Kevin Bacon's character) and the former Melrose Lanes bowling alley that the property originally housed.
The menu looks to be pretty straight forward, offering breakfast all day, along with a selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, larger entrees and an assortment of sides.
Located at 2600 Franklin Pike, Suite 104, hours this Friday will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with opening hours moved to 7 a.m. beginning Saturday. Dinner service is in the plans, so be sure to check back for more updates.
