Plans are well underway for a new upscale watering hole in Hillsboro Village, as a wine and cordial bar is slated to occupy the space above Belcourt Avenue Italian eatery Savarino's Cucina.
Restaurant owner Corrado Savarino, who also owns the building, gave Eater a look at the upstairs space, which had previously been used for storage and rented out for private events. A nearly wall-length bar is in place, with seating and other elements currently in the works. Savarino, who is a partner in the new concept, was pretty tight lipped about other details of the project, but did say that an upstairs kitchen would be built out to serve bar patrons, and that it would seat about 70. And while he would not confirm the name of the bar, Eater hears from a reliable source that they plan to call it 'Amari.'
There's no firm opening time frame yet, but expect the booze to flow sometime before the end of the year. And as always, be sure to check back for more details and do send any and all info to the tipline.
