The slate of food and beverage tenants for new Hillsboro Village development Hill Center Acklen has been revealed, and it doesn't look to be adding anything new to the neighborhood. The Nashville Business Journal earlier today reported that Double Dogs Chow House, the new sports bar from Louisville-based restaurateur and Rafferty's owner and founder Dan Davis, would be taking approximately 5,000 square feet in the ground floor of the project. Additionally, Birmingham-based Revelator Coffee Company will take space on the ground floor as well.
Double Dogs, which offers a large menu of typical bar fare, has two other locations in Bowling Green, Ky. and Knoxville and is shooting for a Spring 2015 opening. Revelator currently has a location in Birmingham, Ala., with two more coming to Chattanooga and New Orleans, and are currently estimating a late Summer 2015 opening.
But are these needed additions to the neighborhood? On the same side of the street and just a stone's throw away is longtime popular bar Sam's Sports Grill. And across the street is coffee haven Fido, along with Hot & Cold, another spot offering a caffeine fix, both owned by the Bongo Java group.
Do you think these are good fits for the area? Let us know in the comments.
