Green Hills paletas shop Padrino's Pops is moving ever closer to opening, with work underway on the space and the full website up and running. Included on the site is plenty of background on the project, such as history and photos of the Mendoza family, as well as a brief interview with patriarch Geronimo Mendoza, 'The Padrino (Godfather) of Pops,' whose recipes are the inspiration for the shop. Much of the history is provided by his daughter Lorena Mendoza Cantu, who will be running the local operation. The menu is also featured, broken down into four categories with pretty much all of the items priced at $3. Included are 'creamy flavors' such as caramel, pistachio, chocolate and Oreo cookie, fruit-flavored popsicles like cantalope, cucumber and tamarind and a selection of flavored waters including horchata, watermelon and pineapple. An opening date announcement should be coming soon, so be sure to check back.
