Well, after months of speculation, it's official: New York City chef Jonathan Waxman, best known for his restaurant Barbuto, is indeed bringing a new restaurant concept to Nashville. The project, Adele's by Jonathan Waxman (named after his mother), will be located at 1210 McGavock Street in a former auto repair shop and is a partnership between Waxman, former Rosa Mexicano CEO Howard Greenstone and local Nashville music industry veteran Ken Levitan. According to reps, the restaurant will offer 'a rustic and seasonal menu of locally sourced ingredients.' Waxman tells The Tennessean that the menu is still a work in progress and that "[t]he building will kind of help me do the menu — the space has to speak to you[.]" As for the restaurant space, a number of current building elements will remain in place, including the bowstring ceilings, existing windows and five garage doors. It will also feature a wood-burning grill and open kitchen with a chef's counter. The main dining room will have 80 seats, with a 35-seat private dining room and a bar and outdoor patio that can handle another 100 guests. Adele's is slated for a summer opening, so be sure to check back for more details and info.
