Belle Meade restaurant Whitfield's will soon be no more, as The Tennessean reports that the ten-year-old eatery will close for good after this Saturday's service. In a statement, owner Dewayne Johnson says that "an independent restaurant should be unique to its owners" and that an "opportunity has presented itself for [his] family to share with the greater Nashville area [their] passion, style and [their] values[.]" Johnson then asks readers to "[b]e on the lookout for us as we prepare to unveil our plans for the future!" So perhaps another restaurant project? No further details are known at this time, so do check back for future updates.
