FLIP Burger Boutique, former Top Cheftestapent Richard Blais' Atlanta-based mini-chain best known for creative burgers, 'N2' milkshakes and sleek, modern interiors, is coming to Nashville. Yesterday Blais announced via his Facebook page "Happy to report that my @flipburger team just signed a lease in Nashville!!! That will be our 5th location & first in Tennessee!" He then followed it up with confirmation of the restaurant's location in the soon-to-be redeveloped former Hostess bakery warehouse at 42nd Avenue and Charlotte. Having eyed the city as an expansion target at least since 2010, it was revealed earlier this year that the team behind the redevelopment of the Hostess bakery was in negotiations with FLIP to take over 3,500 square feet. Blais, who is currently creative director for the restaurant, was runner-up on the fourth season of Top Chef: Chicago and the winner of Top Chef: Allstars in 2010. After opening The Spence in Atlanta in 2012, Blais made the move to San Diego, where he opened Juniper & Ivy last month. Be sure to check back for more crucial details and updates.
