East Nashville's Cafe Fundamental is taking a breather, as The Nashville Scene reports that the French-influenced restaurant will be closed indefinitely due to chef Jamie Watson's need to take time off to recover from recent health issues. However, a note from Watson on the restaurant's OpenTable page says that a re-opening is planned for July 12, with reservations becoming available that day. The Scene article also mentions Watson's McGavock Pike Palmier bakery project, which he hopes to open in July, along with his previously announced, still untitled new restaurant project in Marathon Village. That was slated for an August/September opening, but it looks highly unlikely that it will hit that target now.
