Second Avenue downtown is looking to go a little more upscale, as Hob Nobs, a higher end martini, whiskey and cigar bar, is slated for the entertainment district. The concept is the newest project from bar owner Barrett Hobbs' Cumberland Hospitality Group, which owns and operates a number of honky tonks and bars, including the upcoming McGavock's in Germantown. Located at 164 Second Avenue North between The Melting Pot and The Old Spaghetti Factory, the intimate venue, according to a representative for the group, is looking to cater to those who want to go out downtown but not deal with the usual downtown crowds. The project is not yet under construction, but the approximately 1,200 square foot space will seat around 50 when completed.
