East Nashville's Revamped Dino's Opens Back Up for Business Today

Check out the old (and the new) at 4 p.m.

In what was expected to be a quick turnaround, beloved East Nashville dive bar Dino's will open back up today at 4 p.m. Now owned and operated by local restaurateur Miranda Whitcomb Pontes (who, until recently, was part owner of Burger Up, Josephine and Prima) and longtime friend Alex Wendkos, there was quite a bit of noise made when word first spread about the spot changing hands at the end of November, with the primary concern being that it would lose its 'diveyness' and cease to be what it was.

But it looks like the grimy late night hangout hasn't changed too much in looks, just been polished up a bit. And Pontes promised early on that the burgers and beer-only bar would remain, but that the menu will now include classic diner selections such as BLTs, Frito pies, coffee and pie. And it looks like those pies are coming from Lisa Donovan, former Husk Nashville pastry chef and founder of Buttermilk Road Sunday Suppers.

Business hours are planned for 4 p.m. until 3 a.m. seven days a week, with weekend brunch coming in the future.

Plan on heading there this weekend to see what's changed? Let us know your thoughts, the good and the bad, in the comments or through the tipline.
