Following last month's news that Treehouse opening executive chef Todd Alan Martin would be leaving his post to head to Washington state, word is now out that Jason Zygmont, executive chef at Hugh Acheson's Athens, Ga. flagship restaurant Five & Ten, will be stepping into the position.
Eater Atlanta reported on the shuffle earlier today, citing a report in Flagpole Magazine. Treehouse GM and co-owner Corey Ladd later confirmed the news, telling Eater Nashville that the transition will take place shortly after the new year, with Martin remaining in the kitchen until that time.
Prior to Zygmont taking the reins at Five & Ten in December 2013, he spent time in a number of well-known kitchens, including Atlanta's now-shuttered Woodfire Grill and Acheson's Empire State South, along with a six-month stint at Noma in Copenhagen and ten months at Thomas Keller's Per Se in New York City.
