Wil Schultz OUT at Hillsboro Village's Amari

He'll be moving on to work full-time at 12 South's Urban Grub.

Big changes this week over at Hillsboro Village cocktail bar Amari, as Wil Schultz, a 2015 Eater Awards nominee for Bartender of the Year, has parted ways with the project. Schultz tells Eater that he, along with a number of the bar's staff, served their last drinks this past Monday night, declining to give a reason for the swift departure.

Schultz opened the speakeasy-style bar perched above Savarino's Cucina back in February, taking over for fellow barman Milo Rodriguez, who similarly parted ways prior to opening. But Schultz says that he is excited for his next move, which will take him behind the stick at 12 South's Urban Grub starting tomorrow night.

Amari owner Corrado Savarino tells Eater that even with the major personnel changes, the bar will still be open regular hours. But be sure to check back for updates on all fronts.
