12 South's Burger Up looks to finally be expansion-minded, as owner Community Hospitality announced plans today for a new storefront in H. G. Hill's Hill Center Five Points development. Located at 970 Woodland Street in the former Turnip Truck property, the roughly 3,600 square foot restaurant is slated for a summer 2016 opening.
Jim Lewis, owner of Community Hospitality, which also counts Josephine and Prima in its restaurant stable, purchased the original 12 South location from its founder, Miranda Whitcomb Pontes, last year. Another licensed outpost in Cool Springs is owned by KPMCS LLC.
Developer H. G. Hill has certainly made a push to have burger-heavy restaurants in their upcoming developments, with Atlanta restaurants Farm Burger and Yeah! Burger headed to Hill Center Sylvan Heights and Hill Center Brentwood, respectively.
