Plans for Amari, a Hillsboro Village cocktail bar focusing on its namesake Italian liqueur, along with whiskey, look to have finally come to life. Located at 2121 Belcourt Avenue above Savarino's Cucina, the project, a collaboration between restaurant owner Corrado Savarino and Milo Rodriguez, a veteran of shouty chef Gordon Ramsey's empire and a former Bombay Sapphire U.S. ambassador, appears to have opened in mid-January, with a post on the bar's Facebook page stating that their first party was on Jan.19.
But who knew? Not a peep has been heard about the second floor hangout opening. And details are few, but the bar program is supposed to offer up 70 cocktails, along with European wines and beers. Food is also available, but appears to be just small appetizers. Hours look to be minimal as well, with the bar only open Thursday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. until late.
Had a chance to check it out? Let us know any thoughts in the comments or via the tipline.
(UPDATE: Milo Rodriguez, who was originally tied to the project, parted ways with Savarino prior to opening. Rodriguez was replaced by Wil Schultz, former bar manager of Merchant's.
Amari "officially" opened for business last Wednesday, Feb. 25. Hours of operation are Wednesday and Thursday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.)
