Less than a month in at hotly anticipated Germantown restaurant 5th and Taylor, and already major changes in the kitchen, as chef de cuisine Andy Hayes has left the project. A rep for the restaurant tells Eater that Hayes has simply "moved on," but multiple tipsters confirm that the parting of ways last week was not a voluntary affair on Hayes' part.
Executive sous chef Daniel Gorman, formerly a sous at The Inn at Little Washington, has been promoted to chef de cuisine. No word yet on Hayes' next move, but with the restaurant scene continuing to grow and seasoned help in high demand, don't expect the former Moto executive chef to be out of the kitchen for long.
