'Plant-based' restaurant and bar Avo has opened quietly in the new OneC1TY development in Midtown. Located at 3 C1TY Avenue, owners Jess Rice and Susannah Herring made the announcement early yesterday morning, stating that they would be open starting at 11 a.m. with a limited menu and hours. A grand opening with full menu and extended hours is planned for July 10.
So what to expect? Full lunch, brunch and dinner menus are all available online. Just to get an idea, planned offerings include kimchi spring rolls, mango collard wraps, dishes featuring kelp and zucchini noodles and ceviche tacos.
As for the beverage program, Avo offers an interesting selection of cocktails, including a vegan bushwhacker and other concoctions using cold pressed juices. Twenty different beers are available, with over half gluten-free. And a small wine and spirits list rounds out the menu.
Once things are in full swing, hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
