Urban Grub Owner Jay Pennington Planning New 12 South Concept

Local veteran restaurateur Jay Pennington appears to be doubling down on 12 South, as Eater has learned that the co-owner of Urban Grub has plans to open an as-yet-unannounced new project in the vacant house directly across the street from the popular restaurant.

Located at 2507 12th Avenue South, word has been circulating for some time about a possible new project, with rumored plans for the space running the gamut from a high-end butcher shop to a Mongolian barbecue spot.

Eater had left a message with Pennington, but had not heard back at the time of this posting.

Pennington was one of the original owners of Midtown's Bound'ry and South Street restaurants, and is currently one of the ownership partners in The Local Taco.
