A longtime Midtown restaurant space is once again available, as Hayes Street restaurant Magnolia South closed their doors for good this past Monday after nine months in business. No announcement was made, but their website has essentially been wiped clean, their Facebook page deleted and their phone number disconnected. And their last communication appears to have been on July 30 via Twitter, offering a free appetizer with a "Southern secret password."
Located directly behind The Hutton Hotel, the property has seen quite a bit of success in the past, with Mambu operating there from 2001 to the end of 2012. But it reconcepted into Rosebud, which closed five months later, and Magnolia South opened the following year.
So what might be next? It's too soon to tell, but be sure to check back for future updates.
