Celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman and his business partners Howard Greenstone and Ken Levitan aren't wasting any time growing their local restaurant holdings, as The Tennessean reported last night that the trio plan to open a second location of their Bajo Sexto taqueria in Sylvan Park by February.
To be located at 5303 Charlotte Avenue in the former Batey Muffler Center (and continuing a definite trend of Waxman re-purposing car repair shops for his restaurants), Greenstone describes it as "more than just a taco joint," offering a selection of tacos, tortas and salads during the day and "a cross between Southern barbecue and Mexican cuisine" in the evening.
Kaelin Ulrich Trilling, opening chef for Bajo Sexto's current location in downtown's Country Music Hall of Fame, will also be overseeing this outpost.
