Some pretty shocking shutter news tonight, as East Nashville favorite The Silly Goose has abruptly closed. After a helpful Eater reader sent in a tip regarding the closure earlier this evening, Eater reached out to chef and owner Roderick Bailey, with Bailey confirming the news via email, but declining to comment further at this time.
But what could be the reason behind the sudden closure? By all accounts, The Silly Goose was one of East Nashville's most popular restaurants. Opened in 2009, Bailey's cooking amassed a loyal following and garnered him some national recognition along the way, including being voted Food & Wine's 'People's Best New Chef' in the Southeast region in 2013.
So be sure to check back as this story will most certainly continue to develop.
