It's happening: Belmont/Hillsboro-area bagel shop and eatery Proper Bagel opened their doors at 9 a.m. this morning, having announced today's soft opening last night over social media.
Located between Blvd restaurant and Local Honey, the bagel shop has been a highly anticipated addition to the Nashville scene, due to both the dearth of high quality bagel options in town and the pedigree of the shop's owners. General manager and co-owner Heather Speranza and her husband have teamed up with her parents Marcella and Carmine Speranza, who have a 35-year history in the bagel business.
The extent of the menu is not yet known, but promised items include kettle boiled bagels and bialys, smoked salmon flown in from Brooklyn and sliced to order, housemade pastries, bagel sandwiches and more.
No word yet on what full open hours will be either, but be sure to check back for updates. And if you plan on checking it out today, do send any first impressions, intel or photos to the tipline.
