Just ahead of last week's snowstorm, Germantown's Bearded Iris Brewing announced that Feb. 6 will be their brewery and taproom's official opening to the public.
Founded by Kavon Togrye and Paul Vaughn, Togrye tells Eater that the 1,500 square foot taproom, the neighborhood's first, will seat around 75, with plenty of standing room as well. All five brews listed on their website, including 'Lady Friend,' a petit saison, and 'Habit,' an India pale ale, will be on tap, along with a couple of variants of those that Togrye says they are saving as a surprise. One coffee-based, non-alchoholic beverage is planned as well.
Hours on opening day will be from 2 to 11 p.m. But normal hours of operation will be Wednesdays and Thursdays 5 to 10 p.m., Fridays 5 to 11 p.m., Saturdays noon to 11 p.m. and Sundays noon to 8 p.m.
