Maneet Chauhan and her team at Chauhan Ale & Masala House made quick work of filling the void, and then some, left by yesterday's announcement that opening chef de cuisine Vasisht Ramasubramanian is moving on to helm soon-to-open fast-casual restaurant The Hook, as they have named Aatul Jain as corporate executive chef and partner.
According to a release, Jain is already running the kitchen at Chauhan Ale & Masala House, and will also be heavily involved with two new restaurant projects the group plans to open later this year. He has a varied background, including time spent in the kitchens at New York City Indian restaurants Tulsi and Devi, culinary positions with Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Saint Clare's Health System and an appearance on Food Network's Chopped.
