So cocktail den and laid-back hangout Bastion officially kicked things off last night. A partnership between chef Josh Habiger and the increasingly prolific Strategic Hospitality, this new spot is a big deal for the Wedgewood-Houston community, easily the neighborhood's most high profile restaurant and/or bar opening to date.
The space itself, designed by local architect Nick Dryden and New York-based studio Reunion Goods & Services, features a little bit of everything: a killer bar, an indoor pergola, a door to nowhere, a not-oft seen Bimini ring game and even a quote from 1984's The NeverEnding Story. So take a look around, and be sure to report back with any first impressions.
