FRANKLIN - Plans are in the works for the first rooftop restaurant to open in Williamson County. To be located at the top of the upcoming Franklin development 231 Public Square, the 9,400 square foot venue will have a large patio and will be able to accomodate up to 500 guests. Construction is slated to begin this summer. [The Tennessean]

NASHVILLE - Cracker Barrel is looking to jump on the fast-casual bandwagon, as they plan to open a new biscuit house concept called Holler & Dash in Homewood, Ala. this spring. And two notable local chefs are helping craft the menu: Brandon Frohne, their director of culinary and the former executive chef of Mason's restaurant, and Jason McConnell, the concept's chef de cuisine and the chef/owner of Franklin restaurants The Red Pony, Cork & Cow and others.
