Corner Pub

It appears that the inevitable is happening to Midtown's Corner Pub, as it was announced late last week that the 10-year-old restaurant and sports bar will be closing their doors at the end of May. The news was shared on Corner Pub Midtown's Facebook page over the weekend via what appears to be a copy of their email newsletter, which was sent out last Thursday.

Vanderbilt University purchased the property back in September, with no clear plans for its future use. Corner Pub's lease of the 37-year-old building runs through the end of this spring, with the business owners, Restaurant Investment Properties Inc., clearly hopeful that an agreement could be worked out to keep Corner Pub in place. But it wasn't in the cards, with the newsletter saying that they "worked to keep this beloved location operating but were unable to work out a mutually acceptable lease." You can read the whole statement below.
