This morning the James Beard Foundation released its list of finalists in the 2016 Awards. The winners of the Chef and Restaurant awards will be announced at the official James Beard Awards Gala on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. And Music City sees two culinary contenders advancing from semifinalists to the next level.
Here's the list of Nashville finalists:
Outstanding Chef: Sean Brock, Husk (Nashville)
Best Chef Southeast: Tandy Wilson, City House
The only other finalists representing Tennessee are Andrew Ticer and Michael Hudman of Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen in Memphis (Best Chef: Southeast).
Will the fourth time be the charm for Wilson? And can Brock, nominated for the first time for his work in Nashville instead of Charleston, bring home the bacon? We'll find out in May.
