UPDATED (3/30/16): A representative for South Capital Partners has sent Eater an updated press release, stating that The Valentine is scheduled to open mid-April.

It's been over a year now since the last reports regarding the planned multi-story restaurant and bar that would be taking over the former Boots 'n' More building at 312 Broadway downtown. But Eater has now learned that Benjie Shirah, a co-owner of Demonbreun restaurant and bar South, as well as The IVY in Atlanta and Southern Kitchen and Bar in Birmingham, Ala., and his South Capital Partners restaurant group are opening The Valentine, a four-story restaurant, bar and live music venue in the over 9,000 square foot building. And that opening could be very soon.

Described on its website as an 'upscale saloon' with a 1920s and 30s Prohibition-era vibe, the restaurant and bar will include multiple levels of live music, as well as a rooftop bar and patio and private event space.

Menus on the website don't appear to be complete, but certainly give an idea of what to expect from the kitchen and bar. Food options include a variety of small plates, salads, sandwiches and sides, with several burger options and the now seemingly mandatory nod to Nashville hot chicken. Beverages include wine, beer and cocktails, with the latter offering options with names like 'The Black Dahlia,' 'Belmont Jewel' and 'Dollface.'

According to The Valentine's Facebook page, hiring started in early February, and word is that an opening announcement could be coming soon, so be sure to check back for more details and updates.
