Granted, he did only try two different versions of the dish

While in town last week for a one night stand at the TPAC on his "Eat Your Science" tour, celebrity chef and avid Instagrammer Alton Brown decided to challenge his taste buds in a Nashville hot chicken blind taste test.

In a video posted to Brown's official Facebook page over the weekend, it shows the intrepid eater after the Nashville show blind-folded on his tour bus and diving into two different variations of the dish. After sampling both twice, Brown declares that hot chicken example number one "makes [him] want to cry" due to the heat level, whereas example number two makes him "want to eat more chicken." And so in choosing hot chicken number two, Brown names Hattie B's Hot Chicken the winner.

The video does not reveal who the other hot chicken competitor was, so best guesses as to who brought a little too much heat?

In addition, taking fan-sourced recommendations, Brown also stopped by Biscuit Love, where he declared the shrimp and grits the best he's ever had (so far); Germantown's Steadfast Coffee, which has "[o]ne of the sexiest coffee menus [he's] ever seen"; and Garage Coffee Company where he grabbed a Cuban.
