The news earlier today that East Nashville's Little Octopus will be moving into the former Ru San's location in the Gulch also brought word that Ru San's would be relocating to Hillsboro Village, taking over the current home of sushi and burger spot Lucky Belly. So what are the future plans for that restaurant now?
Eater reached out to Lucky Belly co-owner Patrick Burke, who says that the restaurant will be permanently closing after service on Sunday, June 12. Burke, who opened his first restaurant, Zumi Sushi, in the same location back in 2009, offered the following statement:
I’m pleased that [Ru San's owners] Rosie and Scott will carry on the now decades-long tradition of Japanese cuisine in the Village. This comes with mixed emotions for me, as Lucky Belly was my first restaurant, but it’s time for me to explore new restaurant opportunities and I know Rosie and Scott will be a great fit for continued success in serving Japanese-inspired cuisine at this location.
Ru San's plans to hold a grand opening at their new location on Wednesday, June 15.
