East Nashville's The Vine Abruptly Closed Its Doors Early Last Week

"Unforeseen circumstances" is the reason given for the closure

Eater Nashville

The prominent corner retail space at East Nashville's Fifth and Main condo building is once again without a tenant, as The Vine restaurant and bar closed its doors after service last Tuesday.

Little is known about the reason for the closure, apart from a brief message left on the restaurant's website: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, theVine will be permanently closing as of May 31, 2016. We cannot begin [to] express our gratitude to our customers, our staff and our vendors for the past few years of service to our community." Eater has reached out to owner Greg Swafford for more details.

Opened in October 2014, The Vine marks the fourth restaurant that's come and gone in the seemingly challenging space. Previous tenants include Allium, Germantown Cafe East and Feast. Be sure to check back for updates as to what might come next.
