12 SOUTH -€” Bongo Productions, the group behind Fido and Bongo Java, is opening a new retail business called BOX (short for "Bongo/Bakery on 10th") at a mixed used development located at 2233 10th Avenue South. The new concept will house the group's bakery operations, which are currently located at Fido, as well as serve baked goods and other items exclusive to BOX. A November opening is projected. Taking over the space formerly home to Maple Street Grill, the restaurant will feature a 'high-end bar with a retro feel,' and serve menu items such as steak, seafood, and regional specialties.
