A prominent New Orleans food hall no longer has plans to open in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, as St. Roch Market is now on the move and eyeing new opportunities in Germantown, Midtown, Downtown and The Gulch.
First announced in early 2016, the roughly 8,000-square-foot planned food hall was meant to be one of the centerpieces of the May Hosiery Mill redevelopment in Wedgewood-Houston. But after over 18 months of inactivity and no updates on the project’s status, the rumor that St. Roch was no longer part of the development began to gain traction. This morning, a representative with the food hall confirmed this in an email, simply stating that “St. Roch Market has decided to seek a new location within the city for its flagship food hall announced last year.”
St. Roch Market co-founder Will Donaldson says that they “remain fully committed to Nashville and are excited to continue [their] efforts at a new location.” So be sure to check back soon for updates and intel on where it might land.
