A prominent West End retail space appears to be in line for a new tenant, as the former Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery is the target of a new project from the team behind local restaurants Etch and Amerigo.
Doug Hogrefe, a partner in restaurant group 4-Top Hospitality, confirmed to the Nashville Business Journal that they have a “new project” planned for the space at 1918 West End Ave., with details to be released at a future date. 4-Top, which is based out of Nashville, counts chef Deb Paquette’s restaurants Etch and Etc. under its umbrella, as well as Saltine in Jackson, Miss. and Amerigo, the latter of which is situated next door to the former restaurant and brewery.
The 23-year-old Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery has for the most part sat dormant since June of 2016, when it closed in preparation for several months of renovations. But it never reopened, with Blackstone owner Kent Taylor stating last December that a new operating partner would have to be found. Those plans never materialized, and he has since been working to sublease the space.
