UPDATED (11/27/17): The opening of WestEnd Kitchen & Bar has been delayed slightly, as a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page earlier today announced that service is now set to begin on Sunday, Dec. 3.

(11/17/17): The Hutton Hotel will be ready to show off its shiny new restaurant before the end of the month, as WestEnd Kitchen & Bar will open to the public on Monday, Nov. 27. Sunday, Dec. 3.

Located at 1808 West End Ave. in the ground floor of one of the city’s most popular hotels, the restaurant and bar, formerly known as 1808 Grille, has not only undergone a name change but also a complete overhaul of the space and menus. And Eater has the first look at the new offerings from executive chef Chris Anderson.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, Anderson, a veteran of hard-hitting Chicago restaurants Alinea, L2O and Moto, will offer a la carte menus of what he describes as his take on “progressively Southern cuisine.” Dinner gets the usual breakdown between small plates, salads, sides and entrees. Dishes range from barbecue octopus and crispy Carolina rice with fermented collards and pickled chili to bison ribs and stuffed quail. Lunch has a good bit of crossover with the dinner menu, but still offers a few unique options like the blue catfish and crab toast. Breakfast runs the gamut from duck hash and cast iron baked eggs to bourbon smoked arctic char and sour cream pancakes.

The bar program consists of a small wine list, a handful of brews (including a few local options) and both house and classic cocktails.

Dining room hours will be 7 to 11 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 10 p.m. for dinner, seven days a week. Bar hours will be 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. And coffee bar hours will be 6 to 11 a.m. daily.
