As The 404 Kitchen moves closer and closer to opening in its brand new Gulch digs, plans are now in place for what will take over its former home just across the street.
Emmy Squared, a casual Detroit-style pizzeria by way of Brooklyn, will open by February at 404 12th Ave. S. It will be the first expansion outside of New York state for owners Emily and Matt Hyland, who operate two locations of their wildly popular Emily pizzeria in Brooklyn and the West Village, as well as the original Emmy Squared outpost.
The restaurant, which offers lunch and dinner seven days a week, focuses on Detroit-style pie, a deeper-dish pizza that comes served as a square with a variety of toppings and the option of either red or white sauce. Emmy Squared also offers small plates, sandwiches and desserts, as well as a full bar menu.
A representative for the restaurant tells Eater that it will have roughly the same number of seats it previously had, around 45, and will have a focus on delivery. So be sure to check back for more details and updates as they become available.
