Take a Look Inside Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria, Now Open in North Nashville

They kicked things off this past Monday after a weekend of soft openings

The Buchanan Arts District in North Nashville has a brand new fast-casual pizza joint to call its own, as Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria opened this past Monday.

Located at 911 Buchanan Street, the neighborhood restaurant, the first foray into the hospitality industry for owners and Tennessee State University grads Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore and Emanuel Reed, has been a long time coming, having been first announced back in the summer of 2015.

And while the restaurant serves up a menu of signature and build-your-own pizzas along with 14 local brews on tap, canned wine and adult slushies, the space itself also throws off a healthy dose of style, a clean black-and-white tribute to ‘90s hip hop and pop culture.

The communal dining area features artwork paying tribute to Arrested Development’s “Tennessee,” as well as projectors that screen films such as Kid ‘n Play’s early ‘90s hit House Party in the evenings. Even the restrooms pay homage to the era, with lyrics by The Notorious B.I.G and Will Smith adorning the bathroom doors.

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. until late Friday and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday.
