The debut of Henley, the new modern American brasserie from chef RJ Cooper, is just around the corner, with an official opening date of June 19. Located in the Kimpton Aertson Hotel in Midtown, it’s one of the year’s most anticipated new restaurant openings. And Eater has your first look at the menus.
Out of the gate, Henley will offer breakfast (served 7 to 10 a.m. daily) and dinner (5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, Thursday through Saturday 5 to 11 p.m.), with lunch service and the tasting menus to start in the coming weeks. For breakfast Cooper will offer up his take on popular dishes like duck fat beignets with rye whiskey, milk bread pudding and house-made pork sausage.
The dinner menu is broken down between mains, large format options and sides for the table. Larger plates include soft shell crab, monkfish cheeks, spring lamb saddle and a 60-day dried rib cap with bone marrow, with prices coming in at a very reasonable range from $12 to $23. On the large format, options include Wedge Oak Farm duck with johnny crepes, Bear Creek Farm short rib and freshly caught whole fish with China black fried rice.
And heading up the bar program is veteran barman Jon Howard, crafting a wide-ranging list of house cocktails and after dinner drinks all clocking in at $12. Or you can choose a straight pour from the well-rounded spirits’ list.
So make your way through the opening menus, and be sure to check back soon for more updates.
