UPDATED (7/12/17): Co-owner Sam Ross tells Eater that Jason Seiden is no longer a part of this project or any future projects going forward. Attaboy Nashville is also no longer under the Well Favoured Hospitality umbrella.
As is typically the case these days, it took much longer than planned, but Attaboy, the much anticipated Nashville outpost of the top shelf New York City cocktail bar by the same name, finally opened its doors yesterday.
Located at 8 Mcferrin Avenue, partners Sam Ross and Michael McIlroy, along with Attaboy Nashville managing partner Brandon Bramhall, appear to be keeping things pretty true to form when compared with the original, with a couple of exceptions. The location, a non-descript building set back on a little-used side street off the main East Nashville drag, does at least have signage painted on the side, making it easier to find than its New York counterpart. And it also has an outdoor area in the back, another noticeable difference.
But the operations are the same. Knock on the door, wait for it to open and a host will greet you and ask for how many in your party. You’ll then be seated or given a wait time. Once you’re in, there’s no menu. Staff will ask a short round of questions to hone in on exactly what type of drink each customer is in the mood for, and then take it from there.
The space consists of a long bar similar to the one in New York City, as well as larger booths and a small semi-private seating area. Food is not yet being served, but plans for a small bar food menu are currently in the works.
Hours are 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. seven days a week, so if you plan on checking it out, do send over any thoughts or comments to the tipline.
